Some 400,000 military veterans live in North Texas, according to the city of Garland. To help address their healthcare needs, a major redevelopment is underway in Garland’s Medical District for Veteran Affairs—also known as Valoris Health Park—located adjacent to the Garland VA Medical Center.
On Tuesday, February 28, from 3 to 5 p.m., the city will hold a mural reveal celebration and ribbon cutting to mark progress on one of the buildings in the Valoris Health Park. The 3,600-square-foot mural at 601 Clara Barton Blvd. is by Dallas artist and musician Haylee Ryan. It’s meant to represent a stepping stone in the district’s redevelopment—which aims to fulfill the city’s plans for “a full-service medical district for its veterans and citizens.”
